The Far North Queensland region stretches from Cardwell in the south, to the Torres Strait in the north and to the Gulf of Carpentaria in the west.  You might be surprised to know that our region is the size of Victoria!

Our bold vision for 34,000 young people and their families

In 2009, the Far North Queensland Region made a Service Commitment to 34,000 young people and their families: 

100 per cent of students in our state schools will graduate as confident and healthy young Australians and achieve

  • an Overall Position (OP) and enter university, or 
  • a clear Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway to employment, or 
  • paid employment of 25+ hours per week, or
  • alternative pathways for some students with special needs
